Refuge for Women offers many opportunities throughout our organization for young people who wish to intern with our program. Our internships offer hands-on experience with our residents as well as learning opportunities with our staff who have expertise in recovery and counseling.
We are currently offering four internships tracks at our Kentucky location including one at our Safe House location with our residents and three within our Prevention Program.
SAFE HOUSE TRACK
The Safe House Internship is about building relationships with residents and experiencing the inner workings of the ministry, healing and recovery process. Interns are females only, usually students, often seeking credit hours in practicums in psychology, counseling, social work, ministry. etc.
The Prevention Internship involves both men and women with a heart to learn more about the prevention program, an understanding of the safe house program, and to be equipped to be a voice for awareness and experience reaching out to today's youth. This track is helpful for Communication majors and others with a voice to lead.
